Kids At Heart

We walked quite a bit this weekend around our property, and of course the goats go with us. They are so fun! When the sun shines and there’s lots of good pasture to eat, their energy picks up and they have a blast. Here’s what they love to do best ~ good thing we live on a hill!

Pegs (first shown) has doubled her milk supply since we put up the hay rack. It could also be that she’s weaning her daughter, Piper. In any case, it is amazing to finally have a goat giving good yields. She is more full each morning!

I so adore goats! I grew up on a small hobby farm, where we always had an assortment of animals and my experience with goats was pleasant! Goats are usually good tempered, but not always. I used to milk them myself, the cows too. It was one of my tasks! I laughed when I watched your video! Oh so true, they are playful, curious, wary of strangers and way closer to our body’s needs than a cow any day! I use goat milk but I do not have my own farm or animals so I must go buy it in bags…pity! We have issues in the family that we can NOT break down the Protein in cow, once it is tampered and I do not have a cow in my yard either. :) Thanks for sharing your wonderful video!

That was adorable! We are about to embark on our goat owning adventure. We have 4 Nubian Doe Kids coming in a week! We are excited, but I am a little nervous about caring for them.
