I haven't had time to look it up yet, but it is a gentle iodine solution that keeps infections from happening in the first place. She says if you have one that is not nursing a kid (which keeps the teat open) or has a low hanging udder or lies down in a dirty place or generally has a weaker constitution, it's a good idea to use the dip every time.
