Departing

Jeff’s parents, Jerry and Judy, arrived on Saturday afternoon, just shortly after we returned from attending a wedding. They arrived for a short visit with us, and to take the kids back with them to California. I felt like I could let down after their arrival. The previous days had been so busy, leading up to their arrival and getting ready for it.

We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday with them. It wasn’t long enough… And then this morning, they loaded up, kids and all, and said good-bye. But first, the kids helped me once last time with the milking chores! ;) Thank the Lord for that.

No, really, I practiced milking all by myself and did it twice last week, so I know it can be done. But you know, I really like working with my kids. I feel like I’m getting to know them in new and special ways by working together with them in a farm activity. So that is what I’ll miss much when they’re gone. I won’t feel so badly that I have to do it all by myself, ‘cuz the work’s not so hard. I’ll feel badly that I don’t get to do it with my children. They make it fun.

So now they’re gone. This is the fourth year they’ve taken a two-week trip to California. I think I can handle it this year. I have a project list a mile long, as usual. I don’t know where to start. Watch for some catch up sewing posts this week and next!

It’s so nice they get spend this time with their grandparents. I know you meant you like working WITH your kids not ‘working your kids’. LOL I like working together around our farm too. It DOES make chores seem less like work. :)

Jen – You’re very sweet – I’m glad you’re reading Such Treasures and I look forward to getting to know you more! It is nice to know I’m not the only one who mixes up my words. ;)

Wow, as I look at the pictures I can’t believe how much the kids are changing (growing up) right in front of me. I have the advantage of only seeing them once a month or every other month so I can really tell how fast these changes are taking place.

What beautiful and happy people in those pictures . . . . .

I’m glad your storm of activity has slowed (until you speed it up again that is).

    Love,

    Jami

    • Wardeh says:

Jami, I’m speeding up as I write… No, actually, today I’m having trouble deciding where to start! :) Thanks for your sweet comments! It is fun to hear from your perspective how the kids are growing!

The kids look wonderful. And Wardeh, you look lovely in red!

    • Wardeh says:

Thanks, Sangeeta! Judy told me the same thing yesterday morning. She’s a colorful person herself, and I know she’s happy that I’m trying to wear more colors. :)

  9. Sangeeta says:

I think that you have the perfect coloring for color! Pardon the pun. Especially rich, jewel tones. Burgundy red, emerald green, a rich darkish blue. I must be a color person myself!

    • Wardeh says:

Sangeeta ~ I’m so thankful that I’ve had the honor of knowing you in real life. :) Even if it was for too short of a time, I can agree, without hesitation, that YOU ARE A COLOR PERSON! And you’re beautiful on the inside and out! Thank you for the sweet compliments you give me.
