We made another unplanned trip to the orthodontist yesterday, for Haniya to get a band put back on. We made a day of it and went to River Forks Park on the Umpqua River. The kids love that place! We were surprised that not many people had the same idea, it being a fantastic day in Oregon in April. But school is still in session, so that would explain it. Some friends joined us there; it was great. Really great. We are all sunburned. That was another surprise.

It was a great day! Thanks you so much for inviting us along….. Katelyn is sunburned, she is the ‘fairest in the land’ as I tell her. Her brother Loren has more of my coloring (believe it or not we are card carrying Choctaw Indians) so he is fine.
How are the kidos?
A couple of natural remedies for sunburn are: Apple Cider Vinegar & Potato (potato is great for all burns especially serious ones) The vinegar can sting so it may be hard to use in some situations.
To use the potato I peal a big piece and wipe the burn with the juice, repeat often or tape the peal on a burned finger and leave it. Replace with a new peal often. If you’ll do this right away the healing is reported to be miraculous. It definitely stops the pain shortly and prevents scaring.
It is so very wonderful now that spring has finally arrived. Next time we will have to try out that ‘other’ park I was telling you about…..

Oh Wardeh, I’m sorry you got burned. I thought you and I were out of the sun enough, not at all like the kids. Katie’s is getting better with the vinegar – if she stays on it the vinegar will turn it to tan. Of course she may still peal
