Haniya finished up the monumental job of minimizing and organizing all our CDs and DVDs. Here are two boxes of CDs and two boxes of DVDs, fitting in a small space on the bookshelf. The contents of these boxes were previously taking up space in a huge cupboard (now given over to much needed space for storing mason jars) and a drawer.
We also keep one box near the computer for all computer-related discs.
The girls have one box in their room containing their personal collection of CDs (music and audio books).
I like it. Especially since I didn’t have to do it. 
No, really, I am so thankful for my sweet Haniya who loves to organize and jumps right in to projects like these. Naomi helped, too, for a good many hours and I’m thankful for her, too!

How many CD’s or DVD’s fit in one box?

SueEllen, we can fit around 50 of those sleeves in a box. I think in my post I wrote about 46, so rounded, that is 50. And that is not stuffed full either. Some of the sleeves have discs on both sides, some do not.
It is really is an amazing space saver!

I have not looked at the plastic snap-together boxes yet. I did find a couple of wooden and metal options. They were a bit more than I would like to pay but I am keeping them in mind-maybe for a birthday or something. I also am looking at it from the aspect that if I could take all the DVD’s out of the cabinet they are in that would free it up for other purposes and even the wooden and metal boxes for the DVD’s would be much cheaper than buying another cabinet. Thank you!

I think their low numbers of storage is because they are storing the CD’s in their plastic cases. I think I could store more than they say if I used your sleeve idea.
Those are really nice! I’m sure you’re right. Our boxes say they will fit 10 CDs (I think) in plastic cases, but with the sleeves, we fit at least 5 times more, comfortably.

Well at that price (and I mean the sale price) it is not something I will do anytime soon but I am going to keep my eyes out for what is out there and see what else I can find.
