Poor mom. We have gone through the braces thing - 3 kids so far. One still a maybe. (Don't get me started on eye glasses!) Many times a breaking wire, getting fixed, going home, breaking again. Many times on weekend - dad with wire snippers cutting offending wire that is poking child in cheek. A month ago Chloe left her retainer on her dresser, it fell on the floor and our dog, Lucy (who is not a chewer and doesn't chew things) chewed it up. Tasty, huh? Apparently. That cost $100. I have had to drive 4 hours all told before to pick up college daughter who stepped on her retainer and broke it. We have suffered much braces trauma. :-) However, the end result is well worth it.
