My Name is Wardeh and I’m a Fabric Snob

Merino Wool Yarn from KnitPicks.comI’m also a yarn snob. And a food snob.

With regard to fabric and yarn, here’s my thinking: if I’m going to make something, why not make it well, with the best materials, that perform best?

For fabric and yarn, that means, most of the time, I use wool.

Do you know the benefits and properties of wool? The fiber is incredible! Wool is moisture absorbing (holding moisture away from the body), insulating, easy to clean, low static, wrinkle resistant, durable, color-fast, fire retardant, dust mite repellant, natural, renewable, and easy to sew. Read more about wool at  DenverFabrics.com.

If you think wool is itchy, think again. Merino wool (very fine, smooth, soft wool) can be tolerated, even enjoyed, by most people who think they are allergic to wool.

As for being a food snob, here’s my thinking. I have to cook, right? We need to eat, right? Why spend money on things that are not good for us? Why cook/eat things that God did not provide for us to eat (like engineered, processed foods)? You can read much more about that at my kitchen/recipe site, GNOWFGLINS™.

Are you a snob about anything? :D I’d like to compile a list with input from all my readers. Share and give your reasoning. I know we can all learn and be inspired by what is shared.

Oh, be sure to start your comment with “My name is _____ and I’m a _____ snob.” :D

Please forgive me Wardeeh, there was no pun intended on my last comment! I didn’t mean to imply anything, I am sorry!

  2. Regina

My name is Regina and I am a KJV snob. I like the KJV bible, it sounds right to me, all other versions sound strange in my ears!

I am also a skirt snob. I like wearing skirts, I think they are more modest and womenly than pants.

I am also a real smashed potato snob, I think the instant are horrible and not even worth making!

  3. Martha Bisharat

Hello! My name is Martha, and I am a laundry snob. It’s the first chore I tend to, and I fold right out of the drier into the basket. But if I am tired, or have done enough for that day, then putting away can wait until the next day! Not a problem, in my book.

I too am a smashed potato snob–they are sooooo my favorite food!

I also am a never-darn-socks snob! If they need it, and I do it, it is forever uncomfortable to the toes. So the best thing is to pitch them, and I do!

My Name is Sylvia and I am a book snob. I choose only high quality reading material to put into my mind. I figure I only have just so much space so why clutter it up with junk LOL!

  5. Sangeeta

My name is Sangeeta and I am a food snob. Although it has gotten harder after baby no 2! I am also a simplicity/anti-materialistic snob wannabe! And I would REALLY like to be an anti-clutter snob but have no idea as of yet as to how this can be achieved.

Mom, I will not be a snob about anything! So there!

Don’t mean to be mean about anything of course!

    Your Daughter,
    Naomi Marie
Who is NOT a snob about anything!

I just found this site and this discussion cracked me up. I am a Children’s book snob and have “enlightened” many on the mush that has been written for children. And don’t get me started on Children’s music which should be nearly as entertaining (or at least not completely annoying) to parents!
