Hello,
I would like to cancel my hosting account.
If you refer to support tickets on my account, you’ll see that two weeks ago, my account was moved to a stabilization server because of “excessive CPU usage.” Even though I greatly streamlined the scripting on my sites, I was unable to reduce my CPU usage to your acceptable threshholds. Nor did I think my sites were large enough to require the greater resources provided by your much more expensive VPS hosting plan.
Therefore, I found it necessary to find another hosting choice.
I am now writing to you for a cancellation because I have found a hosting company that better suits my hosting needs. I chose a hosting company that doesn’t overcrowd servers, that provides a clustered server hosting environment, and that does not place extreme restrictions on CPU usage. All these services are provided for about the same price as your basic shared hosting.
I find it unfortunate that cheap web hosting companies such as ________ promise astronomically high limits on bandwidth, storage, domains, and databases, yet do not clearly mention their low, acceptable CPU usage threshholds. It is especially unfortunate in light of today’s web environment, when more and more individuals are using dynamic scripting software to run web sites.
I have written about what I learned on this blog post: What the Cheap Web Hosting Companies Don’t Want You to Know.
Please note that I did not mention ________ by name. I do feel that among the cheap web hosts, ________ is better than the rest of the field. I appreciate that you did not suspend my account, but rather moved it for a time so I could consider my options.
However, in spite of my appreciation for your consideration, I am unable to continue doing business with you. I cannot justify upgrading to VPS hosting when there are more intelligent and consumer-oriented hosting companies providing hosting at prices similar to your basic shared hosting.
Thank you,
Wardeh Harmon
