Sneaky Thief

The first winter we lived here, I stored fruit on the back porch. The squirrels found out right quick. This winter, 2 years later, I’m back to storing fruit on the back porch. This morning, we went outside to see this little guy munching on an apple on a stump near the back porch:

And here is the evidence of his handiwork.

As Naomi said, “It’s only one apple…” That’s big from her, because apples are her favorite fruit. So if she doesn’t begrudge the apple, none of the rest of us should either.

I have to wonder how that little squirrel carried that big apple up to its perch. What a neat picture, Wardeh!

And how are all of you doing today? Are you outside putting up a fence? I have to get out there to wash windows! I am having a difficult time seeing through them.

Much love to you all — and Happy Mother’s Day, Wardeh! Kids, did you remember????

Judy, hello! And a Happy Mother’s Day to you! Yes, we’ve been outside doing fences for two days. Well, Jeff really. He invited a friend to help him and the friend graciously accepted, bringing his whole family for us to enjoy. We’ve just been having a great time!

I wonder how the squirrel got it up there, too, now that you mention it!

      Love, Wardeh

  2. He/she looks so pleased to have snagged that sweet treat!

I love that your daughter was so quick to forgive. She has the right idea!

    Blessings!

  3. What a great shot of the squirrel! That is too funny.
