Beginning the Fencing…

Jeff drove home with all these cattle panels on Thursday. Thursday night he called his friend to come and help him with installing the fence. Friend said yes (good friend) and came over with his family on Friday afternoon (and on Saturday, too).

Jeff brought home this load of panels for our fencing.

Before he came, though, I helped Jeff unload 1/2 of these cattle panels. My share of that load was 1750 pounds. Boy, am I feeling it today. I feel it from every muscle in my head down to my waist. I can’t lift my arms up past shoulder level.

Jeff’s friend and family ( :D ) came out on Friday afternoon and came again this morning. What wonderful people we know, to pitch in with hard work. We’ve had a great time. I had a menu planned for the company we expected on Sunday, but have had to make food enough a crowd on Friday and Saturday, too. What a blessing to have a houseful of people to enjoy, love and feed for three days! We are so blessed in the friends God has given us.

This is the beginning of the fence, a picture I took Friday afternoon. The fence is longer now, but not that much. ;) Gonna take time. I am blessed with a methodical husband who does good work. So it will get done when it is right.

The first span of fencing completed Friday afternoon.

The days have not been without trials. On Friday, both Jeff and his friend received substantial injuries. Jeff sawed into his left forefinger’s knuckle (he said it was the meta-carpal but I’m not sure what that means), barely missing the tendon. Our friend cut into his head with a T-post pounder. They both have doing fine today, although nursing some soreness.  We are all praising God for healing their injuries while they continued to work hard. My goodness — when Jeff came in the house with his injury, I felt so sick to my stomach, feeling defeated and frail, but God is good and continues to strengthen us in times of weakness.

Now it is Saturday evening. I am the only one inside. I’ve been cleaning up the kitchen and waiting for everyone to come inside so I can dish up some warm chili for them. Our friends have gone home; Jeff is tying up loose ends on the part of the fence they completed today. We may be watching a movie tonight (either Sheffey or Bella, our current Netflix rentals), but we definitely will be aiming for a good rest.

    Happy Mother’s Day, Wardeh!! :D

You are a wonderful Mother – one of the BEST I have ever known.

I will pray for complete healing in your husband and friend. Will the cattle panels be for cattle or for goats, or both?

Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!! Hugs, Robin

Too cool! My husband can’t wait to get started on our massive fencing project (massive to our wallets, that is). I dare not showing him these pictures or he’ll decide that we can live without food in order to afford the fencing. Sigh. He’s very driven and goal-oriented. I like food. :)

    Happy Mother’s Day!

Love the new lay-out. My husband especially enjoys reading about the manly things- work done outside the house, etc.

    Take care!
