I received two colors of lightweight merino wool last week. They are very soft and stretchy, and more like t-shirt weight. The colors are navy and chocolate brown — both gorgeous! In the coming days, I plan on making t-shirts, pajamas, and underdresses (Eowyn’s informal gown that I mentioned weeks ago) out of the wool.
I am still working on caftans for a lady in town. She ordered 5 of them and I have 2 more to go. I bet you can’t guess what I’m using for them (with her blessing) — sheets! Yes, all from thrift stores. I really had no other choice because the pattern pieces for this loose caftan are so large that only a full/queen size quilt will fit them.
I also have a quilt to finish for a friend. I got it back after giving it to someone else to piece the top together. Now it is my turn to quilt all the layers together. I don’t know if I will tie it or machine quilt it.
Now unrelated to sewing is that my kitchen is screaming for a spring cleaning! I am (just about) ready to slate Thursday as the day for that. I really can’t ignore it any longer. And since I already made my list of what to do, I have no excuse for not getting it done… this month, soon, now, ASAP. The T2CHK message board had spring cleaning the last two weeks, but I didn’t join in because the timing wasn’t right for other things I’ve had going on.
