Red For A Time
My latest wool interlock from Covered Caboose came RED. It is very soft and stretchy, but a little too warm (on the color scale).
I made a thermal type t-shirt for each of the kids and myself out of it. I used black thread because I knew the t’s wouldn’t stay red for long. (Polyester thread doesn’t take wool dyes, so I chose my thread ahead of time.)
Here’s one of the t-shirts, red for a short time.

Once completed, the t-shirts went into the jet black dye bath. They stirred and simmered for half an hour. Now they are rinsing and spinning dry in the washing machine. I’ll lay them flat to dry. Perhaps we can wear them on our day out tomorrow.
Edited 2/21/08: A bit of red still peeks though, so they’re going into jet black dye for a second time. Should work.

This is a beautifully crafted shirt, Wardeh!
Love it, just love it. Hugs, Robin
Wardeh, I am just amazed at how quickly you are able to put together those shirts! You are quite the professional.

I have to say I rather liked them red with black seams. Nice contrast scheme.
