Hi There
Today… Saturday. The kids are busy sewing. The sewing bug hit them this morning. Naomi is loaning Mikah her sewing machine and helping him sew with scraps. Haniya is working on a tote bag for a best friend. I suppose I will sew at some point today but I also have to do the dump run. Should I do it in the afternoon when it may be warmer or should I get it out of the way now?
Jeff is outside weed wacking. We let our field grasses grow all summer because the wildlife prefers it that way. The blooms attract the bees. The deer lay down in it and love the privacy and softness. But now that it is winter, he is knocking it down. I admit that I like it better cleaned up and cut down. But that doesn’t mean it is best to do it that way. I’m not sure what we’ll do next year.
I will probably bake some gf dark chocolate walnut brownies (here for non-gf version) today. We are celebrating both Jeff’s and my birthdays today. It is fun having birthdays close together. His was last Tuesday (#41) and mine (#33) is today. For all our marriage, we’ve celebrated together. We don’t enjoy going anywhere but instead plan on having a great family day. Tonight we are going to watch the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie (don’t tell the kids… it is a surprise) and eat our brownies.
Well, I best get some things done so I can take a nap today or lay around with a book for awhile.

I know just how you feel about the grass. What looks good to us is not necessarily what makes the wildlife happy. Unfortunately we live in a subdivision, so we don’t have much leeway in how we keep our yard. We do keep it organic and as natural as possible.
I hope you and Jeff have a wonderful time celebrating your birthdays today. I only wish I could drop by for a brownie! They sound delicious.
Wendy
Thanks, Wendy! Wish I could share some of them with you…

Happy Birthday, Wardeh! It was a grand day, 33 years ago. I could not imagine what it could be like to hold you in my arms after feeling you move and grow for nine months within. The reality of a human life to care for gave me an overwhelming sense of awe and responsibility! Could it really have been happening to me? Your birth was a great day in my life! Thank you for being in my life! I love you, Mother
Oh, you are so special. I am so glad you’re my Mother. I treasure you. Love, Wardeh

Love Ya!
Tiff
Hey, Tiff! I miss you so much. I will be watching the mail!
I was hoping to get a Christmas picture out this year but I probably will send it late (at least I’m going to send one, right? I haven’t since Mikah was born!). Your Christmas picture is gorgeous! I could not believe how grown up Mason looks and the others… wow! You have a lovely family. You all are in my prayers. God bless you! Love, Wardeh
Gee, I wish I had the sewing gene in my body. I was created without one!
Love, Jen
Wardeh,
I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I believe that the right people are put into our lives at the right time. When we need to learn something from them. I feel this way about you.
I have been praying about being more thrifty and getting better control of our finances. You have shown me that not only is it good to thrift shop, but it is fun. You have also taught me, or reminded me to cherish my children more, and look at them through God’s eyes, and the special spirits they are.
The more I read your blog the more I am amazed at how much we have in common. My husband is 9 years older than me, he is 46, I am 37.
Have a great day!
Love, Tiffany
Hi, Tiffany. I am so sorry for not being around on my blog to respond to your lovely comments. Thank you so much! I see we do have much in common. It is wonderful that the internet can bring friends together who wouldn’t otherwise meet. Have a wonderful day! Love, Wardeh
