Don’t Eat Frozen Raisins!

I hurt my jaw on Sunday by biting into a frozen raisin. It majorly traumatized my jaw and I’ve been having a dull ache constantly and pain during eating and popping sounds when biting down or swallowing. I called my mom’s boss in Montana (she’s a hygienist who works for a dentist) who called what happened a partially slipped disc. I’m resorting to taking medicine — ibuprofen, for inflammation. I’m also applying ice and chewing gently. The jaw pain is giving me a headache off and on. I’ve also been to our local dentist and he said all I can do is give it time to heal. He also said he has never heard of such a thing happening because of raisin and that I must be very sensitive. That’s good to know. Somebody finally agrees with Jeff. ;)

  1. Hi Wardeh. My jaw was out of joint for a year until I finally saw a chiropractor who “slipped” it back into place. I know what you are feeling right now. I will pray for you:)

Hmmm… I have wondered if I shouldn’t go to the chiropractor, but the thought of having that manipulation done is really scary to me… Love, Wardeh

  2. Praying for you Wardeh. Heat and ibuprofen may help. I do agree with t.o.p. about the chiropractor.

Thank you, Jen! Why do you suggest heat? You’re the nurse, so there must be a good reason. I just can’t think about chiro right now. ;) Love, Wardeh

  3. I am sorry you are suffering, Wardeh! I would hate to go to the chiro too, so I’m with you on heat and ibuprofen. Give nature a chance to heal it first IMHO.

    Praying that it heals fast,
    Love,
    Glenys

Thank you, Glenys! Nature is doing a good job. It still really bothers me, especially in the morning, but it is healing. I haven’t taken an ibuprofen for a week, so that must be good. Thanks for your prayers. You’re a sweetheart! God bless you today. Love, Wardeh

  4. Hi, Wardeh. Just wondering how the jaw is coming along? I have TMJ and when I have it, I wonder about you!~smile.

    Love,

    Glenys

Glenys, you’re so sweet to ask. It was about a week ago when I stopped feeling the pain. I’m not sure how long that was, but at least a good month of soreness! I am very thankful for healing. Every now and again, I hear a pop and feel a little pain, but it is gone to the point where I’m not aware of it most of the time. And… every time I hear that pop or feel that soreness, I think of *you*! God bless you today! Love, Wardeh
