All for $5.97
Last weekend when my parents were here, we had to hit a couple of thrift stores. My parents love to thrift shop, even more than I. We none of us found very much, but what we found was good. I left with three twin size sheets — 1 orange knit, 1 light blue knit and 1 navy blue flannel. Perfect for kids’ pajamas. Those three sheets, costing a total of $5.97, gave me enough fabric for 6 pairs of pajama pants and 2 pajama t-shirts.
I really love thrift store sheets, and the knit ones are the best. They made great t-shirts and comfy pants. The quality of the knit in sheets often will far exceed the quality of knit available to the home sewer through regular fabric stores.

Dear Wardeh,
You are so frugal. And blessed to be able to create wonderful things with your frugal finds. I can’t wait until you make the pajamas. Especially the orange ones.
Do you look for all cotton, usually? What do you look for when buying the sheets? Hugs, Robin
On the sheets, I look for soft, not too worn. I prefer all-cotton, but can’t always tell unless there is a tag. Usually, those sheets are all-cotton. People sleep with them so they tend to be the softiest and smoothest. I have made all the pjs but haven’t put up the pics. The orange ones are my favorite, too. Oh, also, I avoid plaids and stripes like the plague. I don’t want to have to worry about matching them up. Love, Wardeh
P.S. That is because orange & brown are my favorite colors.
I was thinking that could have sounded like I was teasing. Promise I wasn’t.
Well, I knew you really love orange. In fact, when I bought the sheet, I thought, “Robin would really love this color.” I’m surprised I like the orange so much. It has a really good feel, too. I’ll have to take some pics so you can see. Love, Wardeh
