My little boy turned 7 at 1:30 am this morning. 7 years ago; I can hardly believe it. I love watching him grow, but I do miss him being a baby. I loved having a baby boy after having 2 baby girls.
He’s picked the menu today:
breakfast: sprouted buckwheat cereal
lunch: (he didn’t get to pick this) leftover Sloppy Joe’s in a Bowl
dinner: chicken tacos with sprouts, olives, tomatoes, and cilantro; chicken-cabbage salad
the cake: dark chocolate walnut brownies and vanilla ice cream; he wants popcorn, too, but that is a bit too much for dessert
Tonight when Jeff gets home, the party begins. Mikah asked Jeff this morning if he could have the day off school. Nope.

Happy Birthday..
ok- so what’s the point of homeschooling if you can’t have the day off ??!!!LOL!
We make brownie cakes here too for birthdays. I will try the glaze on our next birthday…which just happens to be mine:)
my ice cream maker bit the dust (we got it for a wedding present.) any recommendations on one we should look for? I may wait until next summer but keep our eyes on the lookout…

I have the Cuisinart ICE-30BC 2-quart Pure Indulgence Ice Cream Maker. Here it is on Amazon.com. I do recommend it, although I’ve only had mine since the mid-summer. Love, Wardeh
Best wishes Mikah! Happy Birthday!
I have read that greasing the inside of your pvc pipe with mineral oil will season it, and make it easier to use. That way you don’t have to use the freezer paper, and the mineral oil won’t saponify, so it does give the soap some slip.
You also might try putting the pvc pipe in the freezer for a little while, then pushing the soap out–it will constrict just a little, and come out easier.
