My Favorite Movies
I’ve written time and time again that my favorite movies are Jane Austen and the like. Lately, I’ve typed up *twice* a list of my favorite movies (some I own and some I do not). I will likely pass on the information again to someone, so I thought I’d put it up here on my blog. For all to see. ![]()
The * means I own it.

Other Resource for Older & Current Movie Adaptations:
I’m sure I’ve missed some movies that I really liked. As you can see, I tend to love the movies-based-on-books from the time of Charles Dickens and Jane Austen. And I haven’t seen all of the oldest versions, either, so some of those I didn’t even bother to list. I’m not a fan of the old movies that, when filmed, leave you with the impression that they just filmed a play.

As you probably can tell, I am getting hooked on the Wardeh Harmon blog! I have not seen most of these movies but these are among my favorite books! Have been reading Pride and Prejudice since I was 12 years old. I can identify Mrs Bennet with a modern day pushy mom from India with 5 marriageable daughters! Always on the lookout. And the masterpiece theater adaptation of Bleak House was hauntingly beautiful. Lady Dedlock was amazingly good, I thought!
Dear Wardeh,
We share so many movie likes.
I did not know that you liked Little Women. I have all three movies. One from 1933, one from 1949 and the most recent from the 1994. I was surprised to find that I like them all quite well. The 1994 one is my favorite, though.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Hugs, Robin
Hi, Robin! I haven’t seen those other two Little Women. I will see if the library has them. We only get 1 Netflix at a time so I couldn’t use it up on something probably only Haniya and I would like.
Thanks for sharing about them! Love, Wardeh
The Last Bleak House is the ultimate filmic masterpiece-nothing gets bear it.
Hi Wardeh
I recently re-joined Blockbuster video online and have been enjoying that this summer.
We have the same taste in movies!! Just today I watched Mansfield Park.
Have you seen the Janette Oke movies?? You seem to like the same movies I do, and I LOVED those (like “Love Comes Softly”) so I’m curious if you liked them, too!
Oh, yes, we’ve really enjoyed all those movies. I need to update this list, I guess.
Love, Wardeh
