I am working on a quilt for a friend. She has had the fabric for years and hasn’t gotten to it. I said I would help, so I’ve been working on it on and off during this time that the kids have been gone. A couple hours a day. It has been easy, just strips. Lots and lots of strips. Lots.
There were 51 strips of each of 4 fabrics, equaling 204 strips. I used my serger, which made it go faster than on the sewing machine, to attach the strips together into 51 sections. Then I cut the strip sets apart and reconnected them to create the main blocks of the quilt. I finished putting the last of the 90 blocks together just a bit ago. Now I have to trim them before I piece the quilt top. The finished quilt will be a queen size. Each block is about 10″ across. The quilt will have 10 rows of 9 blocks each.
She picked fabrics with great contrast. It is so pretty. Here are 9 of the blocks laid together.

What a beautiful quilt! The colors she chose are a perfect match for each other.
I love the colors. That is something I would pick out – I don’t quilt though so it wouldn’t get made around here either unless I paid someone to do it for me.
That is a beautiful quilt.
