Since I haven’t written much lately, I’ll just post up some highlights. I’ll try not to get wordy.
Kids are good, I’m good, Jeff’s good. They’re having fun, I’m having some fun (but missing them which is a detraction), and Jeff is working hard and hopefully having fun.
Working on a quilt. This is for a friend who has had the fabric for years but claims she is not a quilter. I said I would help. I’ll show it to you when I make more progress.
Made homemade ice cream today! I got a new ice cream maker. So exciting! The first flavor to try — vanilla. Good old vanilla (Jeff’s request). It is non-dairy; the milks are almond milk and coconut milk (not light). I sweetened it with agave. Since it comes out like soft-serve and we like hard ice cream, I have had it in the freezer all day to harden up for tonight when we indulge. Can hardly wait.
I am sick of movies. We’ve made some bad choices on what we requested from Netflix this week. Really depressing.
Work day yesterday with friends. They live an hour away and we had the first work day exchange yesterday at their place. Jeff and my friend’s husband built a rock retaining wall around their outdoor eating area. Really looks good. I basically got pampered all day by my friend who is probably the best cook I know. Not only did she totally cater to our food allergies (having children with food allergies to herself), she is an artist with food. For lunch we had fresh veggies, hummus, gluten free pancakes, and a dark green salad topped with lamb meatballs. For dinner, a pasta primavera with natural sausage and a chocolate cream pie (all allergy-friendly and to-die-for). She even made us honeydew melon-mango-and-lemon smoothies for snack. Oh, my goodness.
I think that’s about caught up then. See you tomorrow.

Glad to see all is well…a workday exchange, that sound like a neat idea, thanks for sharing!
Just thinkin’ of you. Thanks for your challenge to life and excellence.
Keep at it!
Maggie
What kind of ice cream maker did you get? I haven’t used mine in years–I am thinking a melon sorbet might be a nice thing to try during these hot humid days.
A work exchange also sounds like a great idea!
A melon sorbet does sound very yummy. You should get out your ice cream maker!
We got the Cuisinart 2 quart ice cream maker. You put the tub in the freezer for 24 hours, then fill it with your filling and turn the machine on. It freezes and churns and 25 minutes later, it is done. It was a gift from Jesus and we are extremely thankful! It was delicious. ~Wardeh
What fun!! I made a dress for my daughter out of that same pink/polka dot material!!
Have a good day!
