My friend is having a baby girl in August sometime. She doesn’t want a baby shower, this being her 4th child. But she will let us go out to eat, so another friend and I are taking her out tomorrow for brunch. I sewed a little dress for her for a baby gift. I am so in love with this little dress and panties. I wish I had been into sewing when my girls were little, but I took those years off. I guess I really had my hands full then anyway. When would I have had time?

I used the Easy Stitch’n Save by McCall’s pattern 5367, View C, 9 month size. The little dress is lined. The other views aren’t lined but since I didn’t want to do buttons on the back (my machine needs TLC on that function right now), I chose the lined view which ties twice at the back.
Here’s the back view. You can see one tie; the other is inside.

After sewing up the dress, I thought perhaps the shoulder straps were too long and the neckline too deep. But I wasn’t sure. So I took the dress with me on Tuesday on our day at Trader Joe’s. I saw my college friends and one of them has a 9 month old boy. He was a great little model. The shoulder straps are the perfect length.

Wardeh — This is the same pattern that Sandy used to make Jennifer some darling outfits. I always loved them and that was many years ago. I can’t believe the pattern is still around. You’ll have to keep it around for your grandchildren. Then you will have more time!!
How sweet that Jennifer had dresses from the same pattern! I love hearing that something has been around for a long time. Love, Wardeh
this is a great style for a baby dress. easy to wear and cute. i’m sure your friend will love it.
