Friday & Weekend Plans
We are going out tonight, something I can’t remember doing for the longest time… if ever. We’re just stay at home type people usually. I can’t think what’s gotten into us. We were invited and probably wouldn’t have done it on our own. ![]()
Jeff and I and another couple from our church are going out to eat and then to the home & garden show at the fairgrounds. Our kids and their kids will all have an evening of fellowship together at their house under the supervision of their older daughters. I think they’ll play games and such. Some of the older kids, along with Haniya and Naomi, are going to go out to eat, too, before coming home. Should be fun for all.
I am going to enforce a nap time this afternoon because otherwise I’ll be yawning all evening. Wouldn’t want to do that.
I don’t know what we’re interested in seeing at the home show. Probably outdoor stuff. I’ll leave it up to Jeff and the others to steer our course. I think the Vita-Mix people will be there, since they usually attend those things. We already have a Vita-Mix but I love to see the demos anyway.
We’re schooling now and doing the laundry so it will be caught up by the weekend. I got the bug to bake our bread last night instead of today to put me a little ahead. It was so relaxing and comforting to do it at night when not much else was going on. It came out of the oven at 9 pm. I asked the Lord to wake me around midnight so I could get up and put the loaves in bread bags and He did. Thanks, Lord. The loaves were perfectly cool by then.
A friend asked me to serge some napkins for her; she gave me the fabric yesterday. I love to help people. If I or my tools can benefit someone else, I’m just tickled no end. I’d like to do those for her this morning/afternoon so they’ll be done for when we see each other at church on Sunday. They have a newly remodeled kitchen and I think will enjoy using new napkins in their new kitchen for Sunday dinner.
Our Saturday will be at home, doing odd projects and being all together (our favorite thing). Sunday we have friends coming over after church for lunch. I cooked an organic chicken yesterday, which I will debone at some point. I will make stock out of the bones for soup, to which I will add back a good bit of the meat and other veggies and rice. My friend who is coming doesn’t care for beef, so it is a good day to have chicken. The bread — from last night’s baking of six loaves — is ready to go in the freezer.
In case I don’t post anything this weekend, as usually happens, hope all my friends and family who read this have a wonderful, God-filled weekend. God bless you all!

Wardeh, I hope you have a wonderful time tonight. It is always nice to get out and fellowship with others.

You are very sweet to serge napkins for your friend. You are a blessing.
Hope you had a great time–sounds like fun!
Wardeh, I would love to know how to de-bone a chicken. Do you think, one day, you could photo-graph it step-by-step on here?
~and as always, your site is a complete blessing for me. I don’t always comment, but I love to read everything you write!
Yvonne, I think you have got the idea that I am cutting apart the chicken before it is cooked. I don’t know how to do that!
I cook it — either roast it or boil it — let it cool — pull the meat off the bones — use the bones for stock.
I’m sorry I can’t help you with the other part.
Thank you for your sweet comments. You are a blessing to me!
Love, Wardeh
