Monday, Monday
I’m catching up today. Baking cracked grain cereal bread and updating our banking spreadsheet (and vowing to do it more often). I caught up on housework over the weekend. I love having a clean bathroom but it just doesn’t last long enough. The best part of the day was reading another chapter of The Journeyman by Elizabeth Yates. Only two chapters left.
It snowed off and on during the night and this morning. The kids went out for a bit, then came in for lunch and because they were cold. The sun has melted most all of the snow. It is pretty while it lasts. The cold lingers, though.
I took the last of my tote bags in to the bookstore last week. We have become friends with the lady who owns that shop. She has cards of ours, mine and the girls, for sale and we make a few dollars a month on that (would be nice if it was more). Anyway, she saw my tote bags on my website and wanted one. Since there were only 5 left I didn’t want to charge her — not the best choices left. (I’ve managed to give away or sell almost all 39!) She picked one and kept the rest to offer for sale in her shop. I want to sew a couple tote bags to add to the others. I won’t sew 39 this time
. I need to offer some cuter ones in there to round out the selection.
Her shop is neat. She likes to fill it not just with books but with artwork. She doesn’t take any commission off the artwork because she wants to encourage the “artists” and because she likes the atmosphere it creates in her shop. Its really nice to know someone who makes business decisions not entirely based on their bottom line. We enjoy going in there each week. Usually it is just me and Mikah, while the girls are having their piano lessons.
Tonight is a walk night. I hope to sew in the evening before bed.
