Couple of Snow Days

We’ve been snowed in and iced in for a couple of days. Jeff couldn’t make it to work yesterday (too bad). So he was here to meet a new friend who came to visit. You might be wondering how she got in since we couldn’t get out. Well… by the time she arrived, the sun softened up the ice enough for us to drive the 4WD out to the main highway and bring her and her children to our house.

You can “meet” her, too. She is Amy of The Joyful Journey blog. She was visiting family in the area. We had a really special visit — except that it was too short! She brought me a lovely pottery pitcher, grey and blue. We will pour our water from it daily and think of her. Today we are praying for her safe travel home on a very, very long train journey. Thanks for visiting us, Amy!

While the kids have largely been outside sledding, I’ve been cooking and cleaning and sewing. I’ve sewn three of Jeff’s tool roll ups — 2 more left. I hemmed jeans and pants that should have been doctored long ago.

We are departing our neighborhood today to go to town. Piano lessons, desperately needed fresh produce, the library and the thrift store await us. I think I might be getting sick, but I hope it is just that I am tired.

  1. That’s neat that your friend Amy was able to come over. Was it your first time meeting her in person? I’ve often thought about blogger friends that I would like to meet. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll get to meet you!

  2. Oh dear Wardeh, stay well and get some rest this weekend, with plenty of fluids, warmth and hugs from your family (and your mom too!) Love, M

  3. Wardeh, I pray that you are not getting sick. That just wouldn’t do.

Do you have a post on the tool wraps? I would like to see them.
    Blessings, Michelle

  4. Oh, you’re all so sweet! I still am not feeling well. I am still am tired. I still have a headache. But I’m happy! :)
Michelle, I am planning to show the tool roll ups soon. No, there is no post yet. Soon!

Carol, it is fun to meet internet friends… I’ve met 2 thus far and enjoyed every minute. This was the first time I’ve met Amy (in person), although I’ve known her for a couple years through the T2CHK Message Board.

M — I love you, too! You called us back yesterday when we were gone. We are having company today, so I may not be able to call until Sunday. But we’ll talk soon. I only called yesterday to say hi. You must have been having a busy day out, too. Love you!

  5. Wardeh..I hope you are feeling better now, did you run out of produce for green smoothies?? warm hugs and love from vermont

  6. Thank you, Mona. You know, I guess I haven’t mentioned that we haven’t been having green smoothies for awhile. We got tired of them. We just do tons of salad now. :) By the time I got to the store, we only had one head of lettuce left and nothing else (not fruit or any other veggies). Desperate straights around here!

    Love, Wardeh
