Making Candles

Our pastor’s wife gave me a bunch of beeswax that she had intended to use for candle-making way back. Her daughter is coming over to help me in making candles with it tomorrow. I’m looking forward to spending some time getting to know her better. She’s really delightful and kind. She’s the kids Sunday School teacher, too. They adore her.

We picked out 2 scents — hazelnut-buttercream and apple — to make 2 kinds of candles. We might color the apple candles red, but we’ll leave the beeswax as-is for the hazelnut-buttercream. Unless she brings some other containers, we’ll pour the beeswax into the little glass jars I’ve collected. They are little 8 ounce jam jars from Trader Joe’s and I have an abundance of them. ;)
Today, I need to reread up on candle-making. I haven’t made them for more than 10 years. I’m off to find some internet directions.

  3. Thanks, Michelle. I will give out a few as gifts. I’m curious how many candles all this beeswax will make. Sometimes it seems like alot and sometimes, not so much.

Yes, Sylvia, we have had some fun days. I will take some pictures of the candles. :)
    Love, Wardeh

  5. Thank you, Eran. I already happened on candletech.com earlier today and printed his instructions to follow tomorrow. The other link won’t help me, though, as we’re melting down the beeswax and not using the beeswax sheets. Thanks, though! :) I appreciate your input.

  6. No worries :-)
