Today’s Doings

All done with chores and schooling for today. Wow, our house gets dirty after a week and weekend of tracking in and out. I try to keep most of the outside messes contained to the laundry room and kitchen, but invariably, some messes creep further in.

All last week, Jeff worked outside in the evenings after returning from work. Since it will be totally dark when he gets home today, I’m not sure if he will light up another brush pile or not. There are only 2 left of the piles we intend to burn. 10 of the piles are too close to good trees for him to feel comfortable setting them ablaze.

I’m about to get my things ready to make a batch of American Castile Soap this evening. I want to add it to what I have for sale it at the holiday craft fair this weekend. I might try brewing some green tea with the distilled water to give the soap a green tone.

I never found any good tea cups at thrift stores last week. I’ll look around one more time — this Wednesday when we’re out — and if I don’t find anything, then the girls and I won’t be able to make those fancy pin cushions I mentioned before.
