  4. It is so great to find someone that eats like I do. Can’t wait to try some of those recipes.

  5. Hi, Laura. It is delightful for me to find others who eat as we do, too :) Hope you like the recipes.

  6. I have recently found your site and love it. Especially the recipes and craft/sewing ideas. I’ve printed some out and can’t wait to try the whole wheat tortillas and the whole wheat french bread. We are slowly changing to healthier eating habits. I wanted you to know that I tried the Chinese Chicken Salad last night and we loved it! I used a sesame-ginger dressing that was really good on it. Thank you!

  7. Mary Ann, thank you for the kind compliment! I’m so happy you enjoy my blog. I hope you’ll let me what crafts you try and how they turn out. I don’t get that much feedback and I always wonder how things work for people! I hope you like the tortillas and french bread, too. I will let my MIL know you liked the salad… she taught it to me and she’ll be thrilled to hear that someone else liked it.

Thanks for stopping by! I will visit your blog :)
    Love, Wardeh

  8. Hi Wardeh! I mean Mrs. Harmon. :) I’m so glad I finally found all your recipes and stuff! Now you don’t have to print them all off for me anymore. :)

  9. Hello, Brenna! I’m glad you found “me”, too!

  10. My family is Armenian so some of these recipes are similar to ours. For example the grape leaves (dohlma). My grandmaother passed last year at 97 and she used to make them all the time.

Laura, thank you for sharing the special memory of your grandmother. Love, Wardeh

  11. By chance I found this wonderful and informative website, thank you so much for your time and talents found here, they are greatly appreciated. I can’t wait to try your recipe for almond milk, at $3.00 a litre this will save us a bundle. I will also be trying your WW Tortilla’s. I have tried another version and had trouble rolling them out(they kept shrinking back). do you have any secrets for a beginner? My four year old loves them and I would like to have a project for the 2 of us to work at.

    Thank you again,
    Anita

Hi, Anita! I think there is a bit of shrinking back no matter what you roll out, but these tortillas don’t do it tremendously. They are yummy — I’m sure you will like them. How fun for you to do with your 4 year old. It might be a bit hard for your little one to roll them out, but I think putting the dough into balls will be fun. The only secret I know is if the dough is tough, let it rest a bit more. It will soften up as it rests after the kneading. And make sure the balls are fully covered so it doesn’t dry out. Please let me know if you need any help! Love, Wardeh

  14. Hi, Wardeh:

A friend found your blog when searching for gluten-free recipes, and we both consider it a “treasure”! We are two homeschooling moms (each with three children) who live near Phoenix, Arizona, and we have forged a “cooking co-op” to help us address multiple food allergies among our family members. Between us, we have to avoid dairy, egg, wheat, gluten, soy and nuts. We have had a lot of fun getting together to do some batch cooking, and we are so excited to find your blog with all of its wonderful recipes and ideas. We plan to try some of them soon! One thing we are in search of is a good flour tortilla recipe that avoids all of our allergens. All of our efforts so far (made in a tortilla press) are crispy rather than pliable, and thus are not so suitable for burritos or wraps. If you ever run across a good recipe, I hope you’ll publish it! Meanwhile, we’ll keep checking in to get some more ideas to try! Thank you so much for sharing what you’ve tried with success!

Sonya, those wraps are definitely on my list to work on soon. I haven’t found anything yet. My trouble so far is getting anything to roll out. I don’t prefer using a tortilla press because they only come non-stick, which I’d like to avoid. So if I ever am successfull I will share for sure! Thanks for visiting — I’m glad to hear the efforts of you and your friend. It is wonderful that you’re batch cooking together to benefit both your families. I love to hear that. God bless you all! Love, Wardeh

  15. Wardeh, my mom and I are curious about when or what time you write on your blog, and how do you find the time? Your blog is amazing and is full of great information. My mom, specially, loves the way you and your family live, and says you are highly organized! Were you a teacher before?!

Hi, Sarah! You’re so sweet! No, I was not a teacher before. I suppose my blog makes me seem more organized than I am. Most of the time I am overwhelmed, especially by all the things I want to do!

I either write on my blog in the morning before school, when the kids are working independently, or else after we’re done with school. I don’t write every day, but I try to. Also, I have been keeping this blog for 1-1/2 years and all along I’ve tried to organize the information. Maintaining the new information in categories does not take that much time. It would take me alot of time if I had to go back and start organizing it all now.

I hope you visit again. Thanks for writing. Please do let me know if I can help you with anything. Love, Wardeh
