Impromptu Love Notes

Last night at about 8 pm, I sat down with my Household Notebook to decorate all the divider pages and the cover and spine. The kids, as usual, crowded around to see what Mama was making and possibly join in the fun. Naomi shared paper all around and I shared some stickers and my markers with them. We all had the best time creating together. My children are at such an enjoyable age. Mikah is now at the point where he can do things and enjoy participating. He’s not a baby anymore — I’m glad!

They created Love Notes for each other, Jeff and me. I’ll share the Love Notes they made for me.

Haniya’s Love Note. She started Italics handwriting this year and her handwriting is enviable! So lovely for an almost 9 year-old. I told her that next year, I am going to buy a handwriting workbook for myself so I can learn to write as lovely as she does — and I’m serious! I will do it.

Naomi’s Love Note. She is really working on her handwriting, too. But especially punctuation and capitalization. I could tell she was really concentrating on writing a perfect letter to me. God bless her sweet spirit — saying she hoped I would have a good night’s sleep!

Mikah’s Love Note. This could be the first note he has written me. He needed help spelling “love” but he knew how to spell “you”, which is surprising and enterprising! I love how he lined up all those flowers and wrote around that heart. It is really artistic. He was bothered that he ripped the paper, but I told him I don’t care about that, and I don’t.
