$6 Dresses for My Girls
I just finished Naomi’s dress after having finished Haniya’s this morning. I used McCall’s pattern 8044 that I got at our thrift store for $.25. I purchased 3 yards of clearance fabric for each dress at $2 per yard (but I used less), making the total price for each dress no more than $6.

Naomi shows the back view. I added ties to both dresses because they were much too full and shapeless around the waist.

They are beautiful, Wardeh! If we were better off I’d offer to send you some fabric and pay you to make some dresses for us if you wanted. Would you ever consider sewing for others?
Lovely, just lovely!
I would consider it, but I think I need to get a little more experienced first. I would be afraid that things wouldn’t fit right or something. But I would consider it if circumstances were right.
Beautiful, Wardeh!!! I can’t wait to get this house unpacked so I can start sewing again too. Good for you to look beyond the pattern and add what’s needed. I’m a literal visual person. I find it hard to think outside of what I see. Even to see ties!!
You are so talented!!!!! The dresses that you made for the girls are just darling. Doesn’t it just feel so good to have found the bargain pattern and the beautiful fabric on sale? It’s so rewarding making and sewing things for your home and family. Thanks for sharing the picts. with us.
Hi Wardeh,
You did a wonderful job on the girl’s dresses! They are so pretty (the girls AND the dresses). :o) It made me think of ‘Little House On The Prairie’ when I saw the photos of your girls standing in the grasses.

Oh, you’re all so sweet! Thanks!
The girls are beautiful! What a great job you did! How rewarding!!!
Wardeh,
I am just so proud of you, how you can make those beautiful dresses with such skill and feed your family with knowledge and creativity. How precious you must be to your family and what a proud Mother you must have!
Love
Sylvia
Thank you, Pam & Sylvia!
