Such Treasures

I'm having a hard time sleeping. I'm so stuffed up from my allergies. I think my room is just full of grass pollen. I'm going to run the Rainbow vaccuum today as an air purifier and try to see if that will help me sleep.

What else is going on? I had my three crockpots full during the night. One full of black beans, one full of kidney beans and the other full of white (navy) beans. I want to make a three-bean salad today, which is a favorite of Jeff's. If I have some frozen green beans, I will blanch them to add also, along with onions and all the seasonings. I will use agave syrup instead of sugar. I hope we like it.

Some of the black beans will become part of our chili this evening and the rest of the beans go in the freezer for later. I love to have beans in the freezer. They are so good for stretching out a meal and adding fiber to meals. They taste so good and meaty when seasoned well.

We are home all day today. We have schooling this morning. It is 8:17 am right now and I have only seen one of the children so far (Naomi). Lately they've been staying in bed, reading or playing a video game before rising. I'm taking it as a sign that they're growing up that they don't immediately run out to find me upon waking.

So the plans today… school, housework, laundry, sewing, and making that bean salad in plenty of time to have it chilled for dinner. I want to sew in the evening. Well, Naomi is ready for her breakfast now and so am I. I had my green smoothie at 6:30 so I'm ready now for some peanut butter toast or oatmeal.
