I am working on two quilt wall hangings to give as gifts to two young ladies in our church. One of them just graduated from high school and the other is about to turn 18. I am trying (and hopefully succeeding) in not purchasing anything to complete them. I would love to purchase new supplies, but I need to make use of what I already have.
So yesterday I got out every single piece of leftover quilting material. I had a tentative idea about making a scrap quilt wall hanging using half-square triangles in 4-patch blocks. I dug deep in my fabric bins and found predominantly lots of greens, blues, creams and tans, so I went with it. Last night, I cut squares, sewed the half square triangles and then pressed them. I told myself I had to be in bed by 10. It ended up being about 10:30 when the pressing was done. I'm a little tired today but eager to finish piecing the tops at least.
This morning, I have played around with the pieces and I think I've found a good layout. Here are four blocks made from the 16 different half-square triangles. In each wall hanging, there will be 4 of each of these blocks, making for a total of 16 blocks.
I intend to write up the pattern for these scrap wall quilts as my next craft article for T2CHK. The kids are all still asleep this morning so I'm going to start sewing right now.

What beautiful, thoughtful and personal gifts!
That is a really pretty pattern. I like those colors.
It’s beautiful! If I come over, will you teach me???
:> Pam
Oh, it’s absolutely beautiful, Wardeh!! I love the colors. I look forward to seeing the pattern.
Thank you for asking about how I am doing. I have had a very very emotionally hard week. Almost reminded me of when I was at my lowest several years ago. I won’t put the details here, but it was very gloomy.
Have a wonderful Friday, dear Wardeh.
P.S. I have not forgotten to mail your block!
P.S. Will you take a picture of the completely wall quilt(s), please?
Thank you if you are able to.
Thank you all for your kind comments!
Pam, yes, if you come over I’ll teach you!
Robin, I am sorry you’ve been having an emotional week. I am praying for you to feel the Lord’s joy! Yes, I will take a picture of the completed quilts.
