Today
Mikah had a fever and crashed on the couch yesterday when we got home from getting ice cream and walking around town. He seems to be better today but I'm not sure if he'll be well enough to go swimming, which was the plan. We were going to do some shopping and go to the YMCA pool during public swimming hours in the afternoon. Jeff is already gone to work and Mikah and I are just waiting for everyone to get up to discuss today's plans. I know I should be in the kitchen unloading the dishwasher, making muffins and putting chickens in the crockpot, but what I really want to do is just snuggle on the couch with Mikah and read "The Marquis' Secret" by George MacDonald. I guess I'll go do what I have to do and then I'll sit down.
I'm sure we'll have a good day no matter what. I am trying to get through the days now with my allergies. I am drinking Nettle tea. I think it is working! After drinking a strong cup of it I am clear for a couple of hours. It is amazing. I don't like the taste of Nettles, though. To me, it tastes and smells like comfrey. I like comfrey, just not as tea.
So I'm making it with spearmint leaves or lemon zinger tea bags and then I add agave for sweetening. This makes it quite good!

I hope Mikah is feeling better! Love
Karen
Dear Wardeh,
What a busy week for you and us!
I have enjoyed reading about your past few days with your family. I am so sorry your allergies are so bad! Yours sound now like mine were a few weeks ago. Non-stop sneezing and all. How wonderful that the Nettle tea helps. I am going to go look for some next time we are somewhere that sells those types of teas. I will also pray your allergies subside.
I am going to share about our long day cleaning for someone on my blog. I am sure pooped! Darrell will be home tomorrow again. Two times in one week. Enjoy your weekend with your special guests! Love, Robin
How is Mikah? I hope everyone is doing well at your house and that your allergies are better. As the summer goes on and things stop blooming maybe they will get better.
Oh and I love Lemon Zinger tea, Red Zinger too! I even make iced tea with them both, sometimes add an Earl Grey.
Thank you all for being concerned about Mikah. He is just fine. He slept off the fever and then there were no other symptoms!
Sylvia, I love lemon zinger, too. It is my favorite. I have been making the nettle/lemon mix in a big pot and then chilling it. It is so good I’m having to share it with everyone else because they love it too.
