Such Treasures

Busy day today! I’ve been in the kitchen since 6 AM, getting Jeff’s breakfast and lunch ready, emptying the dishwasher, putting chickens in the crockpot for tonight’s dinner, and baking muffins. Pretty soon here, I’ll be packing our lunch for a day spent away. I still have to get myself ready. The children are blessing me this morning; they are hard at work with their schoolwork, so we can be ready to go when it is time.

I made another batch of Hearty Strawberry-Cranberry Muffins this morning, only I’m playing around with it. I feel the muffins are a little on the dry side — but I’m not sure of this nor am I sure I can make them any better than they are. Just as an experiment, I used more oil and less baking powder in today’s batch. I still have to determine whether it makes a difference or not.

We are headed to town today. The kids have their monthly Zoo School for homeschoolers. We may be meeting our friends for a picnic lunch beforehand. Although, it is raining today, so either we’re not going to have lunch with our friends, or we’ll revert to Plan B. I don’t know what Plan B is yet, though. While we’re in town we’ll be running some errands.
